I am the Principal Product Manager for Oracle Entitlements Server (OES). I have been part of the OES team for over five years. I am a standards buff; currently I am involved in OASIS XACML TC and OpenAZ.

I created this blog when I was a Product Manager for Oracle Entitlements Server (OES). I will not be posting new OES articles. Please refer to OES OTN page for the latest product info.

Hi,
I’m just starting to work with OES, having some experience with the other components/products of Oracle IDM/IDAM, and came here after finding your document on installing OES on Scribd. That info was great, but what would be helpful after that is info about actually integrating OES with various different products/scenarios.
I understand about PDPs, PEPs, etc., and XACML, so a lot of the concepts in OES itself are fairly familiar, but the integration part (even with Oracle IDAM products) seems to be the “missing piece of the puzzle”, and I’m having difficulty finding detailed info about such.
Thanks again for your blog posts (and that Scribd article)!
I am very happy to know that you found my blog useful. I agree that an article about OES integration with rest of the Oracle’s IDM/IAM products would be very useful. But unfortunately some thing like this is beyond my means, mainly because I need to understand how to install and configure half a dozen IAM/IDM products. That being said, I have bugging/pestering couple of other teams who have the required skills to install configure the full suite of IDM/IAM products.
Thanks,

Cui,
can you follow up with Oracle support on this issue.
If I were to take a guess:
1) Check to make sure that default authenticator is the 1st authentication provider with “sufficient flag”
2) Make sure that XACML authorization and role mapping providers are configured.

Any code samples on how ADF, OES and OPSS can be used. We are trying to prototypea portal with portlets for our customers to manage their staff entitlements(delegated admininstration). We are on 11g platform. Any code examples will be helpful. From some Oracle presentations OPSS also integrates with OES. Any information in this regards will also be helpful.
Hi Samita,
OES will be certifying with ADF “very soon”. At the time of certification we will also publish usage samples. I cannot give dates on a public blog, but I can share more info if you contact me through Oracle Sales.

Any progress on this ? I wanted to work on a ADF prototype that uses SM to restrict access. Not sure where I can find samples.
Samita,
I will post an update once the integration is released. I work on these blog articles during my spare time, so I cannot make any commitments on when I will create the example.
Once OES – ADF integration is certified, you should be able to get help from Oracle support. So you do not have to wait for a blog post.

Installation Video was very useful…
Thanks Kathir!
Thanks a lot for Installation Video. We could you missed some key configurations without this.
Hi Kathir,
I am happy to know that you found the video useful. BTW, I am planning to upload couple of new videos which talk about OES policy modeling.
Thanks,
Subbu
